FASTWEB's broadband quality available for FASTWEB Internet-only users
Milan, 7 September 2005 - FASTWEB - Italy's main alternative broadband telecommunications operator - announces FASTWEB Light, a new ADSL offer with a certified speed* of 6 Mbit/s. The new offer, which is based on shared access technology, targets people who want to use FASTWEB's broadband Internet service while keeping a telephone subscription with Telecom Italia.
Subscribers to FASTWEB Light have two options:
- Flat-rate browsing (40? per month);
- Pay-per-use browsing with prepaid traffic using FASTCard, a prepaid and rechargeable card available in 25?, 50? and 100? value credit from FASTWEB dealers or directly from the website www.fastweb.it.
The offer targets users seeking high-speed, high-quality Internet access guaranteed by FASTWEB network in the simplest possible format, that is, keeping their Telecom Italia subscription for voice services only. More specifically, FASTWEB Light prepaid browsing formula in the pay-per-use option provide users with greater control over their Internet spending.
FASTWEB Light is available in the areas covered by FASTWEB network and joins the broad range of solutions developed by FASTWEB to meet the communication needs of residential users.
Today launch of FASTWEB Light follows the announcement of a single play solution to be launched in 3Q 2005 made at the time of the 2005-2013 Business Plan presentation.
* Certified speed because FASTWEB guarantees network access capability and checks the ability of the user line to support 6 Mbit/s on a continuous basis by running a 72-hour test at the time of activation. In the event of a negative test, the connection is implemented at the highest possible speed. Actual browsing speed may be affected by external factors that are unrelated to the FASTWEB network.
