Fastweb CEO Walter Renna has been appointed by Swisscom as the designated CEO of the Newco that will result from the merger of Fastweb and Vodafone Italia, which is expected to receive clearance by the first quarter of 2025. Renna’s final appointment is subject to the successful closing of the transaction.
Walter Renna brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success from his tenure at Fastweb, where he has held various leadership roles over several years. Since taking on the role of CEO on October 2023, Renna has steered Fastweb on a continued growth trajectory, implementing a successful diversification strategy that has strengthened the company’s market position.
Under Renna’s leadership, Fastweb has launched several innovative initiatives, including a groundbreaking energy service built on principles of transparency and a partnership with EOLO to provide UBB connectivity services to areas in digital divide.
Additionally, the company recently unveiled its AI NeXXt Factory, featuring a state-of-the-art Supercomputer for Gen AI powered by Nvidia technology, and made available its fully Italian-trained Large Language Model (LLM).
