With regard to the inquiry being conducted by the Rome Prosecutor's Office into dealings between a number of premium and Internet access service operators and Italian telephone operators including FASTWEB, the company informs that the authorities have requested a statement from Chairman Silvio Scaglia in connection with their inquiry and have simultaneously given Mr Scaglia formal notice that he is under investigation.

Milan, March 6, 2007 - With regard to the inquiry being conducted by the Rome Prosecutor's Office into dealings between a number of premium and Internet access service operators and Italian telephone operators including FASTWEB (Milan MTAX: FWB), the company informs that the authorities have requested a statement from Chairman Silvio Scaglia in connection with their inquiry and have simultaneously given Mr Scaglia formal notice that he is under investigation.

Confirming its previous statement to the market on February 19, supported by an analysis of the opinions of distinguished independent administrative and tax consultants who conducted detailed examinations of all the accounting, contractual and material aspects of the transactions in question, FASTWEB underlines that its operations have been conducted in a wholly correct fashion. The company is sure the investigation will soon be concluded.
