e.Biscom-FASTWEB: Boards approve technical procedures of merger plan

The Boards of Directors of FASTWEB S.p.A. and e.Biscom S.p.A. (Milan, Nuovo Mercato: EBI) met yesterday in order to approve the technical procedures of the merger plan of FastWeb into e.Biscom which, however, is still subject to the assessment of the fiscal effects, which are being analysed.

Sky Italia violates the terms set down by the European Commission by interrupting the re-broadcast of “Il Grande Fratello” over FASTWEB’s network

Sky Italia has interrupted the re-broadcast of the Pay-TV show "Il Grande Fratello" (the Italian version of the popular reality TV show "Big Brother") over FASTWEB's network, with an urgent appeal to the Court of Milan. FastWeb is the only competing television network in Italy and operates over a fibre optic and DSL network.

FASTWEB and Alcatel to develop a Broadband Telecommunications Network for the Italian Armed Forces

The Italian Ministry of Defence has awarded FastWeb and Alcatel a ?25 million contract to develop its new integrated joint-forces telecommunications network. The two companies, in a temporary tender group, will provide a fully serviced broadband network, from network design and installation to infrastructure management and maintenance. The contract was awarded on the basis of a European Union Design Contest.
