FASTWEB expansion in Turin and Piedmont: the entire city to be cabled by the end of 2003 and a 1,500 Km regional network

FASTWEB, the company in the e.Biscom Group (e.Biscom S.p.A., Milan, Nuovo Mercato: EBI) that provides integrated broadband services on its own fibre optic telecommunications network, announced the launch of fixed-telephone, high-speed Internet and TV on-demand services for residential users in the northern Italian city of Turin. The company began commercial service of its offer for Turin's business users in April.

CHL and B2Biscom join forces in e-commerce

CHL -- a key player in Italy's e-commerce market -- has reached an agreement for joint e-commerce activities with B2Biscom. B2Biscom, a company controlled by e.Biscom, was founded in April 2000 to develop and manage vertical and horizontal marketplaces. In its first year of operations, it reported revenues of 5.2 million Euro.

First Quarter 2001 Results

e.Biscom operations are steadily growing and are in line with forecasts both in Italy and Germany. Italy's largest broadband telecommunications and media services company, reported strong growth in revenues and number of clients in the first three months of 2001. For the first quarter, e.Biscom reported group revenues totalling 27.2 million Euro, compared to 1.35 million Euro in the year-earlier period, when the company began its commercial operations.
