Milan, 4 August 2006 - FASTWEB, Italy's second largest wireline telecommunications operator (Milan, MTAX: FWB), will be Unicredit's technological partner for the implementation of a broadband connection project for the Group's branches distributed throughout Italy.
Unicredit, the largest Italian banking group with a strong territorial presence throughout the country, has identified FASTWEB as the telecommunications operator which can guarantee, on a single nationwide IP-based virtual private network, the integration of several value added services that will satisfy its complex needs.
The contract, which is for three years, envisages FASTWEB supplying the following TLC services to Unicredit:
- Broadband virtual private network for Unicredit's 2,929 Italian branches;
- Broadband virtual private network for the 130 Italian branches of the Product Companies (Società Prodotto) of the Unicredit Group;
- Optical-based broadband virtual private network for the 25 management offices;
- Access network for 421 cash point machines;
- Fixed telephony service for all the offices of the Unicredit Group;
- Management and maintenance of switchboard systems;
all featuring outstanding levels of service.
