  • ADSL 2Plus: FASTWEB introduces the Super ADSL option for users who want 20 Mbit/s access
  • 1 Mbit/s transmission rate free for everyone

  • On-demand television catalogue enhanced with titles from Sony Columbia and Paramount

Milan, 7 April 2006 - FASTWEB has launched a host of new services in the last few days, to enhance the quality and flexibility of its Internet and digital television offers for residential and small business users.

FASTWEB EASY

Today, 17% of Italian families (Censis data) prefer not to subscribe to a fixed line telephone operator in their homes and to use mobile phones instead; however, they are interested in broadband Internet for their home connections. These users - typically singles, students, young couples without children or small children - are the client group addressed by FASTWEB EASY, the first service to provide fully unbundled, high-speed broadband Internet with no access fee.

The new service marks the arrival of voice-free Internet access. FASTWEB's integrated telephone, Internet and on-demand television services packages, now available to approximately 10 million households, and the FASTWEB Light offer launched in September 2005 (shared access ADSL at a certified rate of 6 Mbit/s for users who want to use the FASTWEB broadband Internet service and keep their telephone subscription to Telecom Italia) have now been joined by FASTWEB EASY, for people who want flat Internet on broadband but do not require a telephone service. The voice service becomes an option, available on a prepaid basis through a FASTWEB handset to be connected to the network.

FASTWEB EASY is available at a one off activation charge of ? 79 and a monthly charge of ? 40 for the Internet connection at an incoming rate of up to 6 Mbit and a transmission rate of up to 1 Mbit. FASTWEB cordless phone costs ? 79 and top-ups are available for ? 25, ? 50, ? 100. Users have also a Wi Fi option and a 20 Mega option (see below).

SUPER ADSL

Up to 20 Mbit/s download and 1 Mbit/s upload
FASTWEB's new Super ADSL option is based on ADSL2+ technology to deliver Internet access at 20 Mbit/s download speed and 1 Mbit/s upload speed. The upgrade is available for subscribers and new clients alike, subject to a technical test, at a one-time cost of ? 80.

Intended for users who need extra bandwidth, the Super ADSL option flanks FASTWEB's certified 6 Mbit/s access offer, still unique in Italy for reliability and performance quality.

UPLOAD SPEAD UPGRADED

1 Mbit/s free for everyone
Beginning in April, the transmission rate has been raised to 1 Mbit/s for all ADSL clients, with no additional cost.

IP TV

With REPLAYtv is now possible to videorecord missed programmes
FASTWEB is introducing REPLAYtv, a new feature for its on-demand digital TV service launched in 2001 and now one of the world's main IP TV models. Video clients can now record and replay TV programmes broadcasted in the previous three days on the Rai, Mediaset, La7 and Mtv networks. The service is delivered at no extra cost: REPLAYtv is included in the subscription to On Tv, FASTWEB on-demand service that costs ? 8 per month, including the decoder.

As far as content is concerned, recent agreements with Sony Columbia and Paramount (in addition to Universal, Dreamworks, Medusa, Buena Vista-Disney, 20th Century Fox, Mikado, Rai Cinema, Istituto Luce) mean that video clients can select titles from a huge and constantly updated on-demand catalogue.

2006 WORLD CUP

Free on FASTWEB Tv

FASTWEB is offering soccer fans the chance to watch the 2006 World Cup matches free. For users who take out a subscription to Sky Calcio (? 28 per month) before the end of April, the charge for Germany 2006 will be credited back to their FASTWEB account. Users who already subscribe to Sky Calcio simply have to renew their subscription for another year to take advantage of this offer.
