Mail mechanization centres will be connected
Milan, 2 August 2006 - FASTWEB (Milan, MTAX: FWB), the second largest Italian fixed telephony operator, has won the tender for the supply of data transmission and telephony services for all the sorting offices of Poste Italiane Group.
The contract, worth 14.8 million euro, is for 4 years.
Poste Italiane's logistic infrastructures (for example the sorting offices) will use services supplied by FASTWEB. Thus the Company can assist Poste Italiane in a process of innovation, thanks to greater bandwidth and advanced data and voice services.
By means of this contract, FASTWEB will make available to Poste Italiane its state of the art tlc services based on its more than 21,000 km nationwide full IP network.
This contract is part of a wider tender organised by Poste Italiane Group, which has already seen part of the supply awarded to Telecom Italia last May.
